On October 13, 2024, Hayashi Laboratory was introduced at the departmental exhibition of the 64th College Festival. We explained our goals and daily activities of the lab to visitors, and young children enjoyed the experience of piloting a robot.
Participated in the Next Generation Technology Workshop
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, we participated in “[From Space to Sea]: Next Generation Technology Workshop Using Mars Exploration Rover Technology”.
At this workshop, we had the opportunity to introduce the beach cleanup robot technology that our laboratory is developing. Other participating groups gave interesting introductions about the current state of marine debris in Fukuoka Prefecture and the advanced technology used in the Mars Exploration Rover.
Afterwards, participants exchanged information with each other and engaged in a lively discussion about what kind of technology could help preserve the marine environment. It was a very fruitful time, with discussions from various perspectives expanding the possibilities for new ideas and collaboration.
Participated in 2024 Environmental Exhibition
We participated in “NEW Environmental Exhibition for Global Warming Prevention” held from May 22 (Wed.) to May 24 (Fri.), 2024.
We introduced our coastal cleaning support robot and coastal survey system using drones and AI.
Many people were interested in our products and we received various comments and inspirations from them.
Sakura Science Program “Robotics PBL Collaborative Practice and Curriculum Development”
From January 21 (Sun.) to 27 (Sat.), 2024, eight students and two faculty members from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and six international students from Rat Krabang visited Japan. They interacted with our third-year undergraduate students who are participating in the International Collaborative PBL.
They made robots for their own team, visited Dazaifu, experienced tea ceremony, and had various cultural exchanges.
Participated in the 10th Tomato Robot Competition
On December 9 and 10, 2023, we participated in the 10th Tomato Robot Competition held at Kyushu Institute of Technology, Wakamatsu Campus.
We participated in the freestyle category and received the Fighting Spirit Award.

Participated in the “Oshima Beach Cleanup – World Heritage Site and Beautiful Ocean for the Future”.
On November 25, 2023, we participated in a beach cleanup event held in Oshima, Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
In addition to beach cleanup activities, we conducted a running test of a robot under development.

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, we participated in a beach cleanup event on Jijima Island in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
We were divided into several teams and cleaned up the beach in our area of responsibility together with the islanders and volunteers.
